Personal Biography Michel Consejo was born on December 9, 1950, in Paris, France. His first name reflects his French-Italian heritage from his mother; his last name reflects the Spanish heritage from his father, who was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain. He moved, with three generations of his family, to Jay, Vermont in 1980. He then moved to Sheldon in 1988, where he still resides. Michel has been a business owner most of his adult life and has been actively involved in his community (see Memberships & Committees).
Michel became a U.S. citizen on November 14, 1986. Politics has always been an important part of Michel’s life. After 20 years of owning and operating L&T Satellite Systems in Highgate, Michel retired to spend more time giving back to the State of Vermont and his community, which have given so much to him. Michel will complete his first term in the Vermont House of Representatives in December 2008. He has thoroughly enjoyed interacting with constituents from all walks of life and varying opinions, to discuss and resolve issues that matter to them. He is running for re-election and hopes to continue serving the people of Sheldon and Swanton, and other Vermonters who seek his support.
Michel is married to Dr. Tammie Colburn Consejo, from Enosburg Falls. She is a mental health counselor and is currently an instructor and Interim Director of the Applied Psychology Program at Champlain College. They have four adult children and three grandchildren.
